A few of you may have noticed a complete makeover on your profiles this weekend. We have been hard at work bringing you the coolest web features right into your meetro client.
Go ahead, give the latest Meetro a try - download and enjoy! We’re now up to version 0.99.1495.
You now have a “brand-spanking” new profile. You can now embed videos, photos, and blogs directly into your profile. Think of your Meetro profile as your one-stop shop for displaying your internet persona to the world! For instance, you can show:
- “About Me” Video: way cooler than just an “About Me” photo (most social networks are still behind on this one…)
- YouTube “favorites”: encourage others to watch your favorite videos from Youtube
- Flickr Photos: keep everybody updated via your Flickr photo-feed… everytime you update your Flickr feed, it gets updated in your Meetro Profile!
- Inline HTML: you can now embed certain HTML tags in your “About Me” section to personalize your profile even more!
- Other New Profile Features: ability to see ALL the friends of a fellow user as well as common connections between you and them… quickly view a user’s local time in their profile… more questions for you answer in your profile (like things you are an expert in, things you hate, and who you would like to meet)…

Other Cool New Features
- A nice big button on the client when you don’t have your location reported (try out some new hotspots…)
- Got rid of all those popup security warnings
- When you start up Meetro, you get an ultra-cool “Local Landing Page” that will show you new photos nearby (geo-tagged), your inbox items, your personal stats, and a google map with nearby resturants
- Better support for multi-im conversations (via AIM, MSN, Gtalk, etc.)
- When somebody is away, just hover over their name to see their away message… you know somebody is away when there is a clock on the bottom right corner of their pic…
